Kitchen worktops in Dekton® are best cleaned with
a lukewarm mixture of water and ArteCream. The worktop should be rinsed with water afterwards and dried well. Stubborn stains and sticky food remainders can be removed with a nylon scourer and ArteCream.

- What are the properties of a Dekton worktop?
Even under a microscope the material shows no porosity. Dekton is so hard that Arte has purchased and dedicated a separate waterjet system to cutting this material.

- How is Dekton made?
In order to produce Dekton surfaces the manufacturer uses Particle Sintering Technology (PST). The raw materials are mixed and ground down to a specific particle size, after which pigment is added. This mixture is then dried and spread evenly over a conveyor belt. The raw materials are subsequently pressed together to remove all air. The result of this process is the amalgamation of little coloured grains. In the final stage, the grains are baked in an oven at 1,200 degrees Celsius during which they are transformed into glass, becoming liquid and subsequently taking on a solid state again. A 2 cm thick slab will remain in the oven for 3 hours. The manufacturing process is comparable to that of natural stone, a process that takes Mother Nature thousands of years.
