It is with great care and diligence that Arte selects the material for your worktop. As a professional stoneprocessing company working with natural stone, Arte knows as no other how important regular maintenance of a worktop is to keep it in pristine condition.

All of Arte's materials have unique properties and different maintenance requirements. Upon delivery of your kitchen worktop you will receive a copy of the special maintenance guidelines that apply to your kitchen worktop. Arte recommends you read these maintenance guidelines carefully and follow them diligently. That way your kitchen worktop will remain beautiful and keep its natural look.

Should you have any doubts about how to maintain your worktop, please contact your kitchen specialist.

ArteGranite is a natural product that has been millions of years in the making. This natural material features many naturally occurring variations within the same type, within the same material and even within the same slab.  To maintain your ArteGranite worktop in pristine condition, please use ArteStonecare, a specially developed, long-lasting impregnation sealer.

ArteStonecare is available in two varieties: one for worktops with a polished finish and one for worktops with an "antique" / "leather" finish. Once the worktop has been suitably impregnated, you can use ArteTopCleaner, a cleaning product specifically developed for the day-to-day cleaning of your work surface.

Robust & luxurious look

Each worktop in ArteGranite is unique and will give your kitchen that special look and feel no other worktop can. Natural stone is a luxurious material that will be the crowning glory of your kitchen.

Scratch-resistant

The hardness of the solid minerals contained within ArteGranite provide your kitchen worktop with a scratch-resistance that makes food preparation and cooking a piece of cake. We do, however, recommend the use of a cutting board when chopping meat, fish, vegetables, fruit and the like.

Large choice

The ArteGranite range has a large choice where colours, textures and surface treatments are concerned.

Unique

Granite is one of nature's biggest treasures. Created by the hardening of lava, propelled by natural forces. No two rocks are the same in colour or texture. That is what makes granite so special.

Acidproof

With the exception of ashlar, natural stone is extremely acidproof. Acids that are commonly used in the kitchen, such as lemonade, citric acid or orange juice, can be used without any problems.

A 10 year or lifelong warranty

Arte offers a free 10 year warranty on all ArteGranite worktops or, for a one-off payment of €50, you can extend this to a lifelong cover. Get your warranty now on the Arte website.

Easy maintenance
Because an ArteGranite surface is slightly porous, it is not fully stainproof. Your worktop in ArteGranite will already have been impregnated when it is installed in your kitchen. You should repeat this process several times during the first weeks following installation. After that, an annual treatment will suffice. For daily maintenance purposes, simply use warm water.

Hygienic

ArteGranite is extremely hygienic and is therefore ideal for use in kitchens, bathrooms and window displays or as reception counter or serving area in restaurants. Thanks to the material's easy maintenance and durability ArteGranite can easily be applied in any environment where hygiene is key.

Heat-resistant

ArteGranite is extremely heat-resistant. Thermal shocks can, nonetheless, occur when the worktop comes into contact with hot pans or dishes taken straight from the hob or oven. That is why the use of trivets is recommended.

  • What is granite?

Granite is not just one type of stone. It is a collective term for different types of stone: sedimentary rock, igneous rock and metamorphic rock. All of which are plutons. The granite kitchen worktops as supplied by Arte are igneous rock, crystallized from magma slowly cooling underneath the earth's surface. The magma forms minerals, each with their own specific shapes, properties and colours. That is why you can find a wide variety of kitchen worktops with unique indentations, specks or colour patterns. Each with its own style and colour scheme. Moreover, all granite kitchen surfaces supplied by Arte are environmentally-friendly.

  • How does one maintain a granite worktop?

To ensure the long-lasting quality of our granite worktops we impregnate the granite slabs with a specially developed sealant for ArteGraniet with an antique, leather or polished surface. You will also find this sealant as part of our maintenance package. Most granite kitchen worktops are supposed to be treated twice to three times a year.

  • What are the characteristics of a granite worktop?

Having a granite kitchen worktop is like inviting nature into your home. No two granite surfaces are the same. Their vivid structures, colour patterns, indentations and specks make each kitchen worktop unique. The hard, strong minerals within the material provide the worktop with a scratch-resistance that makes cooking a pleasure and that allows trouble-free contact with fruit acids, lemonades or citric acids.  A granite kitchen worktop is scratch-resistant, acidproof and comes with a 10 year warranty.
